Coffee Association of Canada announces new Board of Directors

CAC New Executive Committee

The Coffee Association of Canada (CAC) is pleased to announce its new Board of Directors for the 2025-2026 term, which includes strong leaders from the coffee and associated industries. The Board plays a vital role in guiding the strategic direction of the Association and advancing its vision to ensure a prosperous future for the coffee industry.

“We’re excited to welcome this accomplished group of industry leaders to the CAC Board,” said Robert Carter, President of the Coffee Association of Canada. “Their collective expertise and insights will help to ensure we continue to address emerging challenges and achieve our core purpose which is to support Canada’s coffee industry through advocacy, education and connection.”

CAC Board Executive

  • Kim Cunningham, Mother Parkers, continues in her leadership role as CAC Board Chair, which she has held since 2022.

Joining Kim on the Executive Committee are:

  • Sophie Bélanger, Marketing Director, Coffee at Keurig Dr Pepper (KDP) Canada as Vice-Chair
  • Stephen Gray, Managing Director, Monin Canada, as Secretary/Treasurer
  • Kevin West, Vice-President, Coffee Operations, Tim Hortons as Independent Representative

The CAC also welcomes two new Directors to the Board:

  • Charles Fung, Marketing Director, The J.M. Smucker Co.
  • Dave McQuillin, Vice President, North American Sales and Business Development, Club Coffee L.P./ofi

They join current Directors:

  • Adam Pesce, President, Reunion Coffee Roasters
  • Chantel Sawchuck, Market Vice-President, Operations, Starbuck Coffee Canada
  • Mathieu Gadbois, Vice President, Sales & Business Development, Zavida Coffee Roasters
  • Nicole Livet, Corporate Brand & Business Development Manager, McCafe, McDonalds Restaurants of Canada

New Appointments Bring Strong Leadership

New Vice-Chair, Sophie Bélanger was appointed to the Board of the Coffee Association of Canada in 2023 and has been an active member of the Marketing and Government Relations committees. She brings over 20 years of experience in the CPG industry. In her role at KDP, she leads KDP owned and licensed coffee brands performance and relationship with our licensed brand partners, like McCafé. Her responsibilities also encompass being KDP Marketing Practice Lead in Canada. She holds a Masters in Marketing from HEC and a Bachelors degree in Business Administration from Sherbrooke University.

Stephen Gray has served on the CAC Board since 2022 and was recognized as Volunteer of the Year that same year. Under Stephen’s leadership, Monin has been a supporting sponsor of the CAC’s Annual Conference. As Managing Director of Monin Canada, Stephen has led the company’s national growth through a powerful mix of market insight, strategic focus, and a relentless drive for innovation. His ability to identify emerging opportunities and translate them into measurable success has resulted in the continued growth of the Monin brand in Canada. His new role on the CAC Executive Committee reflects Stephen’s continued dedication to advancing Canada’s coffee industry.

Kevin West is a second-generation coffee professional with 27 years of experience with Tim Hortons. Kevin leads the Tim Hortons Coffee Operations team where they manage procurement, logistics, quality, farmer support programs, specifications management and coffee commercialization. He has been a key contributor to the CAC’s Government Relations and Sustainability committees.

Thank You to Outgoing Executive

The CAC also extends its sincere thanks to outgoing Executive Committee members Solange Ackrill (Club Coffee/ofi), Dave Ovenell (BUNN) and John Middlemass (Tim Hortons). Their long-standing leadership and dedication have been instrumental in shaping the Association’s success over the years.
